Band Camp
Band camp is held at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. All students in the Grandville High School Marching Band must attend. The 2010 band camp will be Monday through Saturday July 26-31. Pre-Band Camp will be at the high school Monday through Thursday July 19-22. New marching band members should report at 6 p.m. Returning marchers report at 7 p.m. and rehearsals end at 9 p.m. Please put these important dates on your home calendar.
Students have three practice sessions per day at camp, varying between sectionals, learning marching drill, and full band rehearsal. Students rehearse on the field directly behind Finch Hall, while pit students rehearse on the lawn in front of Finch Hall, on Franklin Street. On Saturday, the students perform at Kelly Shorts Stadium.
Students are assigned four per dorm room, each dorm room having two bedrooms, a main/study room and a bathroom. Each bedroom includes 2 beds, which can be bunked, two dressers and a closet, and the main room includes four desks and chairs.
