MALLET QUARTET EARNS HIGHEST RATING AT STATE Congratulations to Jim Lonergan, Jordan Kidd, Kristen Apol and Mike Yoon for their performance at the MSBOA State Solo & Ensemble Festival in Portage, MI on Saturday, March 15. The students earned a Division I rating, which is the highest rating given at the festival. The students will perform their challenging piece, entitled "In Circles" for friends and family at a spring band concert.
CONGRATULATIONS DISTRICT SOLO & ENSEMBLE PARTICIPANTS Congratulations to the six students from the Grandville drumline who performed at the 2008 MSBOA District Solo & Ensemble Festival on January 19. Mallet duo Josh Stoneburner and David Lonergan received a Division II rating for their Bach piece. The mallet quartet of Jim Lonergan, Jordan Kidd, Kristen Apol and Sara Wilson earned a Division I rating, allowing them to go on to perform at the state festival in March.
2007 MALLET ENSEMBLES Eight students from the Grandville drumline performed at the 2007 MSBOA District and State Solo & Ensemble Festivals. The two mallet quartets each earned a Division I rating, the highest possible rating, at both competitions. Congratulations to Kailee Dorhing, Mike Yoon, Sam Zeller, Blake Murray, Jim Lonergan, Jordan Kidd, Amy Engfer and Sara Wilson!
